Anaplasmosis

Human Anaplasmosis is caused by a strain of Anaplasma phagocytophilum (ha strain) that is transmitted by deer ticks.  It takes 36 hours for Anaplasma phagocytophilum to transfer from an infected tick to a person (Katavalos et al 1997). Roughly 3-12% of nymphal deer ticks in Wisconsin are infected with this pathogen. The maps and graphs are from the Wisconsin Department of Health Services. See the Wisconsin DHS webpage or the CDC webpage for more information.
